EXPLORE DOWNTOWN BRACEBRIDGE ON THE WEB!

BRACEBRIDGE- The Bracebridge Business Improvement Area (“BIA”) has announced that the first of several webcams is now available on their website www.downtownbracebridge.com.

“Webcam 1” shows the area on the east side of Manitoba Street near the intersection of Taylor Road and Manitoba Street looking north. A second camera is expected to become operational on the west side further north on Manitoba Street by the Spring of 2010, with others to follow as financing allows.

Tracy Larkman, the BIA’s Administrative Coordinator said, “Visitors will be able to view live streaming video of all the downtown events, parades, and day to day activities that occur within our downtown core.” Larkman went onto say, “People exploring Bracebridge on the net will be impressed by the clarity of the images”.

Also expressing delight at seeing the new system operational, Mae Brazier BIA President said, “I am very pleased to see the first camera up and functional. There has been a lot of time and effort put into implementing this project working cooperatively with Lakeland Energy and the Town of Bracebridge.” Brazier added, “We have a fabulous downtown and are thrilled to be sharing through our website.”

The BIA will begin the second stage of the webcam project shortly by implementing the security features in cooperation with the O.P.P. Signage has been placed throughout the BIA area informing the public that they are entering an area under video surveillance.
